Golmaal directed by Rohit Shetty had created quite a blast at the box office. Attempting to recreate the same magic at the box office, Rohit has decided to come up with a sequel of the movie titled Golmaal Returns. Starring Ajay Devgan , Tusshaar Kapoor and Arshad Warsi from the original Golmaal . The movie adds some new faces in the form of Shreyas Talpade, Amrita Arora, Celina Jaitely andthe sexy Kareena Kapoor.

Bigger doesn’t always mean bettter though, lets just wait for Golmaal rEturns to hit the screens and see for oursleves how the movie does at the box office.

After the success of Zameen and Golmaal, director Rohit Shetty somewhere lost his touch and came up with a third grade film like Sunday. And now he comes back with a sequel to the superhit Golmaal. Titled Golmaal Returns the movie has Rohit’s common actor Ajay Devgan along with Kareena Kapoor, Tushaar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade and Arshad Warsi in the lead.

Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal turned out to be one helluva laugh riot and now he is back with a sequel to Golmaal, named Golmaal Returns. Ajay Devgan and Tushaar Kapoor are the only two from the previous film who star in Golmaal 2. Kareena Kapoor replaces Rimi Sen in this Golmaal. Rohit Shetty will surely try to get back the humor and laughter he invoked in the audience from Golmaal back with Golmaal Returns.

Its A Big Big Diwali For Bollywood in 2008

Although we’re several months away from Diwali, several dream merchants have already set their eyes on the festive week. In fact, a number of films have already been confirmed for release in the festive week this year. Sometime back, we had told you that Subhash Ghai’s YUVRAAJ, Ashtavinayak – Rohit Shetty’s GOLMAAL RETURNS and Yash Raj’s ROADSIDE ROMEO [an animation film produced in association with Walt Disney] have already locked the date [October 24]. There’s talk that Karan Johar is also bringing DOSTANA [Abhishek, Priyanka, John] on this date.

Now here’s a piping hot development pertaining to the Diwali week. Nikhil Advani’s CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA, which marks the foray of Hollywood giant Warner Bros. in Hindi films, is also confirmed for Diwali. Not on October 24, but on October 29. Not on a Friday, but on a Wednesday.

Reason being, people would be busy with the festivities and visiting each other all through the festive week. The occupancy at movieplexes, therefore, might take a hit during certain days. The business would only escalate once the festivities and festival-related ceremonies get over. Hence, it’s October 29 for CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA.

Indra Kumar has given Bollywood some great films like Dil, Beta, Raja and Ishq. But on the other hand he has also made pedestrian movies like Mann, Pyaare Mohan and Rishtey. This week Indra Kumar returns to his favorite genre, comedy, with a mad cap film Dhamaal. The tagline of Dhamaal suggests that, “You Shall Die Laughing”. So is there any tinsi winsi bit of truth in that statement or is it just a figment of imagination of someone heading the promotion team of Dhamaal. Read on to know…

Dhamaal Ki Kahani

Four good for nothing guys ,( Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey, Riteish Deshmukh and Ashish Choudhary) and a cop ( Sanjay Dutt) get some invaluable information that could lead them to 10 crores. Then begins a race among the five of them to reach the money. The problems they face in their task to find the money forms the crux of the plot.

Is there any Dhamaal In Dhamaal?

There are two types of comedies. One is the situational type comedy a prime example being Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Golmaal and the other are those leave your brain home kind of David Dhawan comedies. Both types of comedies if well made are equally humorous.

Five minutes into Dhamaal and you realize that Dhamaal belongs to the second category of mad cap comedies. The plot of Dhamaal is wafer thin. But despite the wafer thin plot what hold’s the film is the great comic timing of Arshad -Javed-Riteish. These three musketeers are a laugh riot, with their typical idiosyncrasies they manage to get the roof down. Ashish Choudary does an ok job. But Sanju Baba disappoints and one realizes that he is not at all in touch this time round. Dhamaal has a breed of supporting actors who may take miniscule screen time but who will form a huge part of your laughter quotient. The most notable of them being Vijay Raaz. You are sure to have a hard time controlling your laughter at the aeroplane scene, or the one where Arshad and Javed ask for a car lift to a Tamilian, sure to give your stomach a hard time.

But the ending of Dhamaal is abysmal, the lesser said the better. The music of Dhamaal is also a huge disappointment. Adnan Sami looks to have lost his musical touch along with his weight. And for all you naughty guys out there, Dhamaal has no sexy heroines, no vulgar jokes. So if that’s what you look for in movies then Dhamaal would be a waste of time.

When you watch Dhamaal your cerebrum will keep popping questions about the sillyness of the cockamamie plot . At the same time you shall be forced into uncontrollable laughter with a few of the gags. Keep your brains locked up for those two hours in the theatre and you might well love Dhamaal.

Final Verdict : A full to timepass comedy. No harm in watching. Woh kehte hain na : “ Laughing Is Good For Health”. And for all you Sanju Baba fans this is a must watch, not because he has done a good job, but because his next film would release after a minimum of 6 years.

Box Office Prediction : Due to low publicity, Dhamaal may get to a slow start but the movie will go on to become a hit due to word of mouth publicity.
