Video : Sridevi English Vinglish Movie Exclusive Theatrical Trailer Online

Filed under: Bollywood News,Bollywood Videos and Pictures - 01 Jul 2012

R. Balki, the famed ad maker turned director, who has such beautiful films like Cheeni Kum and Paa to boast off, is back, but this time as a producer. The film English Vinglish which also marks the comeback of Sridevi to the big screen is directed by Balki’s wife, Gauri. The film also features French actor Mehdi Nebbou, Adil Hussain and Priya Anand. Amitabh Bachchan will also be making a guest appearance.

The movie English Vinglish has Sridevi  starring as a housewife, a mother of two kids, who takes upon her self to learn the English language.

On taking Sridevi in the movie,  director Gauri Shinde (Balki’s wife) told a daily in April: “Balki had gone to meet Boney Kapoor (Sridevi’s husband) over something, and mentioned that I had a script for a film about a mother of two, who wants to learn English. Sridevi, who was there too, was interested to know more. That night, when Balki came home and told me this, I was stumped. I had considered a host of names for this role, but Sridevi, wasn’t even on my mind, because she had been out of the scene for years. When I went over to narrate the script, she hung on every word. Through the narration, I saw her reactions and knew that this film was tailor-made for her.”

The first look trailer of the movie is very creatively done and is one of its kind. The trailer does become a bit boring after sometime and could do well with a few seconds of cutting and trimming. But thumbs up to the creativity. The best part of the trailer, is to see Sridevi back in action, and yes she does light up the screen.

Video : Shah Rukh Khan Break Free Item Song Trailer In Krazzy 4

After flaunting his six pack abs in Dard-E-Disco from Om Shanti Om, Shah Rukh Khan is back to woo his audiences in yet another item song for Krazzy 4 . The item number, Break Free Get Some Chutti has Shah Rukh Khan flaunting his pony tail ala Amitabh from Cheeni Kum. The music is quite hip and peppy and is sure to become a hit, what with Shah Rukh Khan’s presence in the song. If rumors are to be believed Hrithik Roshan will too be seen in the Break Free item song. The two had earlier made a presence in Arjun Rampal’s I See You in the Subah Subah song.

Krazzy 4 directed by Jaideep Sen is produced by FilmKraft Productions of Rakesh Roshan. An out and out comedy, Krazzy 4 is supposed to release this April.

Amitabh Bachchan : “I felt uncomfortable doing Nishabd”

Filed under: Interviews with Bollywood Stars - 08 Sep 2007

“I felt comfortable doing Cheeni Kum, I felt uncomfortable doing Nishabd,” said Amitabh Bachchan in a freewheeling confessional interview with Editor-in-Chief of Times Now Arnab Goswami in his weekly show Frankly Speaking. For once Big B gave a comprehensive answer to the repeated barbs of Naseeruddin Shah who has said at many an occasion of Mr Bachchan’s minimal contribution to experimental or parallel cinema. “The kind of experimental cinema that Naseer talks of was perhaps a little limited as far as its box office content was concerned, therefore you tended to shy away from it,” he said. So without much ado, here is Amitabh Bachchan’s exclusive interview.

Arnab: So much is happening actually, when one looks back since we last met, the last eight months since we last met on the sets of this show, new films, a lot of events in your personal life, Abhi-Ash wedding…
Amitabh: that’s right.

Arnab: And professionally you are doing newer things. How do you look back? What’s been for you the happiest moment, if there’s not a….
Amitabh: Well… if you are gonna push me to the wall then I’ll say obviously the wedding of the son…but you know this is life, everyday there is something happening and … and when you are in a, in a, profession which is high profile….then something or the other keeps happening this is life..

Arnab: are you working harder today than you worked earlier?
Amitabh: I… don’t know..

Arnab: Like pushing yourself?
Amitabh: I don’t know, I …have never considered using any yardstick to measure whether I’m working harder or less, but let’s say that I’m occupied with whatever I’m doing, my day is full and I like it that way, it’s something to look forward to every morning. I don’t know anything else so I’m happy that I have a few films. And I enjoy going to the studio and attempting new things or whatever is offered to me, it’s nice…

Arnab: You know, it was said…This comment had been once made by Naseeruddin Shah & he’d said that why has experimental movies, why have they not happened? And he had been quoted as saying that the one person who’d ruled the film industry-Amitabh Bachchan-in the 70′-80′s even after that…didn’t make an attempt to do it. But now the kind of movies you’re doing are both experiments and they are unconventional. Are you doing it consciously Mr. Bachchan?

Filed under: Bollywood News,Bollywood Videos and Pictures - 28 May 2007

There has been quite a buzz of Ram Gopal Verma’s dream venture, RGV Ke Sholay. And it has been more in news so because none other than Amitabh Bachchan will be playing the role of the dreaded dacoit Gabbar Singh in the movie.

It’s really praise worthy that Big B is getting such meaty roles at such an old age. This year infact he had some good films like Cheeni Kum, Nishabd and Shoot Out At Lokhandwala. But RGV Ke Sholay will undoubtedly be Amitabh’s biggest project this year. So how will Amitabh manage to make a transition from the serious Jai to the notorious Gabbar? That question will be answered when Ram Gopal Verma’s Sholay’s hits the screens.

Till then here’s an exclusive video of RGV Ke Sholay for our readers.

Balakrishnan. so let’s see what response Cheeni Kum gets from some of Bollywood’s finest critics. Will it be a dampner like Nishabd or will it be an entertainer that it promises to be.

Video: The Tamil Version Of Cheeni Kum Song

If you have heard the title track of Cheeni Kum and loved it then here is a piece of trivia. The title track, Cheeni Kum, by Ilayaraja uses one of Ilayaraja’s  earlier tunes ‘Mandram vandha’ from Maniratnam’s Tamil film, Mouna Raagam (1986).

So hear are both the songs videos for you. Cheeni Kum does have an extra zing to it in terms of variations but the original Mandram Vandha also has something special about it…..

Video: Tabu Says Jaane Do Na To Big B in Cheeni Kum

The music of Cheeni Kum has come as a romantic welcome breeze to lovers of soft music. The music is not the loud, disco , remix kind of music that you get to hear these days. But it is of a more sweeter variety. Though Cheeni Kum claims to be a sugar free comedy the lyrics are filled with saccharine and are a treat to the ears.

But the wonderful music compositions comes as no surprise as it is delivered by music maestro Ilayaraja. How we Bollywood fans miss him, only we can understand.

But the tracks of Cheeni Kum are not originals entirely and are taken off from Illayaraja’s earlier hit compositions.

The song Jaane do na uses the tune of Ilayaraja’s Kannada song, ‘Jotheyali jothe jotheyali’ from the 1980 film, ‘Geetha’.

Check out videos of both Jaane Do Na and Jotheyali ….
