Actor, director and producer, Feroz Khan passed away today at at 0230 hrs at his farmhouse in Chicbidarakaval.

Feroz Khan had been suffering from cancer for a year now and was in quite a lot of pain for the past few months.

Feroz Khan who has acted in more than 50 films, had directed and produced several hit films, including Dharmaatma, Qurbani and Jaanbaaz. He was last seen playing a cameo in the film Welcome in 2007.

International pop singer Kylie Minogue will be seen doing her Bollywood appearance in the Akshay Kumar flick Blue. The movie already has good star quotient with Katrina Kaif and Lara Dutta also being a part of Blue.

Apart from shaking a leg for director Anthony D’Souza’s ‘Blue’, she’s also fallen in love with all things Indian and has even draped a sari for a part of a song.

‘She wanted to go through the full India experience, including the khaana (food), wedding and of course the Taj Mahal and Jaipur,’ the source added.

D’Souza too said that the international pop star was a fan of Hindi films and, of course, Akshay.

After the impressive Dev D,  writer director Anurag Kashyap is back with another hard hitting film titled Gulaal. The movie was shelved for a long time and it is now up waiting for its world wide release. Vishal Bharadwaj’s next film Kaminey is all set for a release this summer. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in the lead, Kaminey is a dark comedy.

The promo of Kaminey has already been appreciated and the audience just can not wait to see the movie hit the screens. While Shahid Kapoor is said to have played his role superbly in the movie, the real star of the film is Amol Gupte. Wondering where you heard that name? Amol Gupte is the man behind Taare Zameen Par, the ccreative director of the film and also the one who spun the wonderful script of the movie.

Amole Gupte will be first seen in the role of an actor and not a director. He had done his acting debut more than two decades back in miniscule roles in Holi and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander but now for the first time he is doing a full fledged role in Vishal Bharadwaj’s upcoming next, Kaminey.

Gulzar who was nominated aalong with A.R. Rehman for the song Jai Ho, in Slumdog Millionare, and Sukhwinder Singh who had rendered the Jai Ho song, made their absence conspicuous by not attending the Oscar Award ceremony. The duo did not intend to boycott the Oscar awards, if that is what you are thinking. The two of them were infact very mch excited to be a part of this very proud moment. Sukhwinder was also going to perform the song Jai Ho on stage.

A.R. Rehmann has done India proud by winning not one, but two Oscar awards. With a superb soundtrack in Slumdog Millionare capturing the rawness, struggle, hope and dreams of the Mumbai slums in his soulful music, A.R. Rehman was favorite for winning atleast one Oscar awards. But the perfectionist musician got not one but two award but two awards for which he had been nominated.

Rahman is the third Indian to win the coveted golden statuette, picked up the awards for his best original score as also the best original song “Jai ho” from the film with lyrics by Gulzar and Sukhwinder Singh as the lead singer.

“God is great!” Rahman exclaimed in Tamil as he picked up the awards, saying he was as excited and terrified before coming here as he was at his marriage.Rahman also thanked his mother for her unconditional love.

After delivering hits like Sarkar Raj and Phoonk last year, RGV has managed to salvage a bit of what he lost after the disastrous RGV Ki Aag.

Ram Gopal Verma is now all set to release his next horror film which will have a low profile star cast as usual. The movie is titled Agyaat, which means “unknown”, after Agyaat, RGV will then focus on his next big movie Rann.

Agyaat will be ready for release in May/June 2009.
