Jagmohan Mundra who shifted gears from soft porn flicks to socially relevant films, is back once again with another film on current issues. Jagmohan Mundra who earlier this year directed the critically appreciated Provoked will soon be back with a movie that deals with terrorism. The movie titled : Shoot On Sight has been inspired by the suicide bombings in London of July 7, 2005, in which four British Muslims killed themselves and 52 other innocent people in London.

Movie Preview : Shoot On Sight Shoot On Sight unfolds the turmoil in the life of Tariq Ali (Naseeruddin Shah), a Muslim police officer at Scotland Yard. Commander Ali, born in Lahore, and married to an English woman, is tasked to investigate the police shooting of a suspected Muslim terrorist in the London Underground.

 Aanand L Rai, reputed television director is now venturing into Bollywood with his very first film, Strangers,  starring Jimmy Shergill, KK Menon, Nandana Sen and Sonali Kulkarni.

Having directed shows like ‘Gardish’ on ZEE TV starring Irfan Khan, ‘Kshitij’, a political drama on Sahara One, a telefilm called ONE NIGHT STAND on Star One and recently BOMBAY TALKIES for UTV on Zee Cafe, this is Aanand Rai’s first film venture

Presented by the banners of Sahara One Motion Pictures, Strangers is an altogether different genre of thriller. Inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s famous film, Strangers on A Train, the movie is about two strangers who  meet and decide to assassinate each other’s life partners.

The film is produced by Uday Tiwari and being directed by Aanand L. Rai. The star cast comprises of Jimmy Shergill, Kay Kay Menon and Nandana Sen in pivotal roles whereas Sonali Kulkarni will be seen in a special appearance.

During an overnight journey from Southampton to London, two strangers meet each other and converse with each other. In the process, they come to a mutual conclusion that the only way to come out of their painful life is to get rid of their soul mates. Eventually, they decide that the two of them would kill the other person’s wife.

Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om certaily has the Diwali blockbuster feel to it. Yet another for Shah Rukh Khan after a long line of DDLJ ,KKHH, K3G and KANKs . The film starring Shah Rukh Khan (Om) is a story of junior artist of the 70s who falls in love with Deepika Padukone a superstar of the time. But Om is killed and reborns asa superstar. Clearly as the catchline says ” For some dreams one lifetime is not enough” appears to be soul of the story. Typical Indian masala one may say, but I say thats where the beauty of bollywood lies. An old fashion love story masala fo the core bollywood fans– definitely a first day first show contender.

His personal life may be in a mess due to the 1992 bomb blast case. Although being sentenced for 6 years of rigorous punishment, producers are still signing on Sanjay Dutt for their movies.

Chatur Singh Two Star is another movie for which Sanju Baba has been signed for. The casting is still on says director  Ajay Chandok. “Sanjay Dutt is the only actor finalized so far. It’s too early to speak about the film as yet.”

And what does the tagline line ‘Two Star’ symbolize?

“Sanjay plays a two star police inspector and so it signifies his rank in the police force”, says the director. “It will be a fun film.”

Darjeeling Limited is a film from Hollywood with an Indian connection to it. As you must have guessed from the name, the movie is set in India. The movie stars Owen Wilson, Adrien Brodyand Jason Schwartzman in the lead roles . Darjeeling Limited also has India’s very own, Irfan Khan, playing a small role in the film.

Directed by Wes Anderson, Darjeeling Limited tells the story of three brothers who  set off on a train voyage across India with a plan to find themselves and bond with each other — to become brothers again like they used to be. Their “spiritual quest”, however, veers rapidly off-course (due to events involving over-the-counter pain killers, Indian cough syrup, and pepper spray), and they eventually find themselves stranded alone in the middle of the desert with eleven suitcases, a printer, and a laminating machine. At this moment, a new, unplanned journey suddenly begins.

After the success of Chak De India, Shahrukh will play the role of a Muslim in another film, by none other than his close buddy, Karan Johar. The movie is tentatively titled Khan and will be a departure from Karan Johar’s usual family drama films.

Khan will draw light on the plight of Muslims post the 9/11 attacks. Shah Rukh Khan will play a Muslim, who gets wrongly detained on a flight because of his last name, Khan. The authorities believe him to be a terrorist. Karan is busy trying to get Kajol ( Karan’s lucky charm and close friend) to essay the lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the film.

Movie Preview : Dus Kahaniyaan

Go is directed by Manish Srivastav and is another film out of Ram Gopal Verma’s, Factory. Two lovers, Abhay ( Gautam ) & Vasu ( Nisha Kothari) run away from home, little realizing that they will run into a whole bunch of colourful characters including: a rogue cop, a mean killer, a crafty conman and a chief minister who kills his own deputy. As the stakes get higher and the chase picks up, it’s up to Abhay to save the day. It’s a racy story which constantly collides with heady action, super scares and compelling humor. It’s full speed entertainment right from the word GO. Here is hoping that Ram Gopal Verma doesn’t GO bankrupt after this venture.
