First Look : RGV’s Rann India 24/7 Movie Poster

Ram Gopal Verma’s Rann is all set to hit the theatres soon. The movie stars Amitabh Bachchan, Paresh Rawal, Mohnish Behl, Riteish Deshmukh, Manisha Koirala, Rajat Kapoor, Sudeep, Gul Panag, Raima Sen and Rajpal Yadav in the lead.

The movie is centred around the current media scenario in India. The film will focus on the press and expose the behind-the-scenes truth of how a truth telling machinery, has no choice but to corrupt itself to become a money-making and power-brokering enterprise.

Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of Harshvarshan Malik, the founder of the first private news channel in India, India 24/7. His character is Harvard-educated. He is India’s most respected media personality and a hardcore upholder of journalistic ethics Sudeep plays Bachchan’s son, Jay Malik who is very ambitious and a go-getter.

For him their news channel is purely a business enterprise and its standing is judged from the profits it makes.

Riteish Deshmukh plays Purab Shastri with a degree in journalism. He is an idealist who believes the media should report news not create news. He thinks media is to check the society, country. He dreams of a better India instead of bettering his personal interests like most other youngsters around him.

Paresh Rawal plays a politician Mohan Pandey of the opposition party and nurtures dreams of becoming the Prime Minister of the country.
