After the Oscar nominated Lagaan and the critically acclaimed Swades, Ashutosh Gowariker is going real big with his 40 crore venture Jodha Akbar. The film is complete but there have been problems with distributors not wanting to buy the film, which Ronnie Screwala of UTV wants to sell off at 80 crores. Hopefully a deal will happen and the movie will be released in January 2008.
Jodha Akbar has Hrithik Roshan play the Mughal Emperor Akbar and Aishwarya Rai playing hs wife, Jodha ( a Rajput princess ). The movie is the love story of Akbar and Jodha with the back drop of a war.
