Guess this year is a year filled with break ups. People are breaking up, left right and centre. Just recently there was news that John and Bipasha’s romantic relationship had come to an end. Then there was news that Twinkle and Akshaye had broken up. And now the latest buzz is that Kareena and Shahid Kapoor, Bollywood’s cutest couple, has parted ways.

Now I personally feel that this is just one of those rumors making its rounds round tinsel town. But sources claim that it all happened on the sets of Yash Raj Films’ Tashan in Ladakh and later, Jaisalmer where Saif Ali Khan and Kareena instantly got attracted to each other. This news comes close on the heels of rumours that her relationship with Shahid is on the rocks.

Muzammil Ibrahim surely has guts and super confidence. Firstly he enters Bollywood with a name Muzammil? No offence to the name. But come on, how can one expect to become a popular film star if he has a name like that. How can you expect girls drooling over him when they will be utterly confounded pronouncing his name. Or did Muzammil expect his fans to give him a nick name like Muzzy. Oh come on, I can not think of one appellation for Muzammil too.
Ok, forget the name part of it. Say he is a great actor (which I highly doubt). And he bewilders the audience with his performance in Dhoka. But he surely has not started well. What kind of impression you will have of an actor who has fights with the director ( Pooja Bhatt) who launched him. Surely that’s utterly unprofessional.

What do you play in Dhokha?

I play a patriotic Indian Muslim in the film, who sends a message that patriotism is above religion.

You have had an attitude problem. To begin with, you shocked Mahesh Bhatt even before Dhoka began. You called him and said that your neighbours were beating you up because you are a Muslim. Isn’t that true?

I don’t remember if I called up Bhatt saab to tell him that it was happening because I was a Muslim. I might have told him in that tense moment.

But the fight had stemmed from the fact because your neighbours felt that you are uncourteous towards the women and the children in the building?

It was a family matter and things got out of control. So I had to get involved. It started with my mother and I had to get in. If I was uncourteous towards women and children, you think anybody would have spared me? My arm was injured and my brother’s throat was bleeding. Anyway, now I have shifted from that building. So, I guess, even that’s over now.

Ashoke Pandit (director cum social activist) who had accompanied Bhatt calmed down the neighbours and asked them to file a police complaint instead of taking the law in their hands and beating you up?

I don’t know.

Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan have made a commitment to Karan Johar saying that they are going to appear for the Koffee With Karan finale. But the Bachchan Ghar Ki Bahu will not agree to do favors above a certain point. Aishwarya recently refused Karan Johar’s film saying that the role was too bold and hot for her liking.

It’s clearly a post-marriage mindset on her part, points out actor Chippy Gangjee. Especially since Karan Johar isn’t known for making ‘hot’ films. “He never goes beyond the pale. So what would she be required to do in that role that is not acceptable? This is just put-on prudery,” he says. “But let’s define one thing: what do you mean by ’sexy’ ? Is it the clothes she’s required to wear, some smooching or lovemaking scenes?” he asks.

Comedian Vir Das is unhappy with Ash’s decision. “Ash at 60 would still be sexy,” he says. “Women definitely get sexier later. Look at Sharon Stone and Diane Lane. So please, please Ash, continue acting , for the sake of lonely young comedians sitting at home.”

Wait a minute is this the same Aishwarya Rai who had those nude scenes in Choker Bali, the wet saree scene inTaal ( that exposed more than it covered),  those kiss scenes in Dhoom 2 and Mistress Of Spices. No it can not be that Aishwarya. Oh yes, it’s now Mrs. Bachchan right. The Bachchan Ghar Ki Maan and Shaan, she surely cann’t do such roles now. But her beau Mr. Abhishek Bachchan can go about having amorous relationships in his movies. Why Abhishek, even her father-in-law, the Big B can go about romancing 16 year old kids. But Aishwarya, NO, how can she do that. Seriously guys, this is pathetic. And people talk about male and female discrimination. Huh!!!

Sajid Nadiadwala, one of Bollywood’s biggest producer, speaks about his journey from being a spot boy to Dharmendra to producing Bollywood’s biggest films. Sajid has produced some of Bollywood’s biggest films, namely Judwaa, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Jaan-E-Mann and the recent flick Heyy Babyy. Here is Sajid Nadiadwala reminiscing his journey. Read on….

It seems that when you were a child, you had least interest in films. How did it happen then?
Trust me, that’s a suspense story even for me. I guess it was in was in my blood. As a child, I was a complete bookworm. I did my law and IIS and was waiting for my exams. I wanted to be an executive officer. I used to spend time in libraries and would keep myself away from films. My connection with Hindi films was limited to just viewing them.

Then how did you land up being a producer?
In 1984, I was waiting for my IIS results and during that time my uncles Habib Nadiadwala and Farooq Nadiadwala were producing a film called Gulami. My dad asked me to help them for a while. So, I used to be Dharmendra’s spot boy and Sangeeta Bijlani’s driver. I was considered glamorous spot boy, and Dharamji started calling me grandson. He knew my grandfather Abdul Karim Nadiadwala and also my father Suleman Nadiadwala. So, he would fondly call me grandson. Following him, everyone started calling me by that name. Our family has been into this since 1955, my grandfather produced Shakti Samanta’s film Inspector.

Do you remember your first day as a spot boy?
I don’t remember the first day as a spot boy, but my second film with them was Hatiyaar. The call time for Dharamji was at 5 am and it was the first day of shooting. We were shooting near the parking area of Gaiety cinema in Bandra.

I was asked to take permission from the local cops for the shooting. I took permission from one area, but director JP Dutta wanted to shoot the scene from other side of the road, which fell into another police station’s jurisdiction.

I didn’t have the necessary permission letters with me, so I went up to him and explained that he could take the shot from the side where we had permission. He screamed at me, ‘Who is the director of the film?’ I was so scared that I ran inside Dharamji’s make up van and didn’t come out the whole day!

So, that’s how you have learnt as a producer that never to interfere in a director’s work?
To an extent, I did learn a lot from my experience. When I decided to launch my own company, I was very sure that I would fight with the director on the script level, but would not interfere once he starts shooting. I think, shooting a film is the easiest part.

How did you think of starting your production house and why such a weird name for a company?
I named it Nadiadwala Grandson, because people used to call me by that name. I didn’t even realise that slowly I was getting involved in the business of cinema. I was just 21 years old when I decided that I will start my own company.

Yash Raj Films, first release next year will be the multi starrer action flick Tashan. Tashan stars Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor in the lead. Tashan will be directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya who has earlier written the screenplay of Dhoom and Dhoom 2.

For Tashan, Anil Kapoor will shock everyone with his shaved chest and with tattoos all over his body . Anil has never done so before but makeovers have been apart of his career.

Anil Kapoor has always been known for his dedication towards his roles. For Lamhe he removed his mard ki nishani ( do not get evil thoughts….i meant his moustache), then for Badhai Ho Badhai Anil gained oodles of weight and for Musafir he adorned a slim and toned body. For Yashraj films Tashan actor had to get tattoos all over his body so he shaved off his chest. He has tattoo everywhere on his chest, back, arms.

Some of the audience out there must have found Heyy Babyy funny. It was a quite different thing that I found the movie total crap. The actress is believed to have been asked to shed something to the tune of 15 kilos for her next film with Aziz Mirza.

Vidya has been asked to lose at least 15 kilos before she starts shooting for this film. Although the film is a love story between a young man and an older woman, the actress is definitely expected to look better than what she looked in Heyy Babyy.

 Kangana Ranaut has made a mark for her self in Bollywood. She drew appreciation for her debut performance in Gangster folowed by roles in Woh Lamhe. She received flak for her performance in Shaka Laka Boom Boom but came back with a bang with her role in Life In A Metro.

Why have you often refrained from speaking to the media? Do you have an attitude problem? There’s so much to ask you…
I am a lonely person. I don’t exchange numbers. I keep to myself. Attitude comes to a person who has fame and money. I have neither (pauses). Okay, shoot. Today, I will talk.

Many Bollywood heroines are game to the surgeon’s knife for silicone boobs. Your take on that?
They are also going in for silicone hips, and not to forget, collagen lips. These girls feel that this is the best way to attract men and become a sex symbol. Little do they realise that it has an adverse effect on health. I have heard men talking about big boobs and big ass. I want to ask men. What matters to them- a nice pair of boobs or a girl with a nice nature? I will never get carried away.

You still seeing Aditya Panscholi?
I was never seeing Aditya Panscholi.

You were staying either in his flat with his family, or in a flat given by him?
No. Since two years, I have been staying in a 1-BHK at Yari Road. Few months back, I purchased a 3-BHK on Turner Road in Bandra. I will be shifting there in a month or two. How can I stay in a married man’s house?

Does this mean that you stay alone?
I used to stay alone. But now my younger sister from Dehradun has moved in with me.

Did Aditya become very possessive about you at one point? Those police complaints that you hadfiled against each other…
(Interrupts) It is very difficult to make anybody understand. There are some bonds which one can’t be given names and explained. He was a genuine friend.

He promoted you in Bollywood?
There was no way that he could promote me.

You are still in touch with him?
No. It ended. But I am sure that we are there for each other if we need any help.

Shiney gave you acting tips in Woh Lamhe and Gangster, and you got pissed off?
No, Shiney did not give me any acting tips.
