Cops Suspended For Giving Jaado Ki Jhappi To Sanjay Dutt

Rajendra Kalekar, was just another Bollywood buff and a big fan of Sanjay Dutt. Like many of Sanjay Dutt fans and well wishers , Kalekar’s joys knew no bounds when his Sanju Baba got released from jail. The instant impulse was to shake hands with his favorite star. And those few moments of bliss that Rajendra Kalekar thought he had, would infact turn to haunt him.  Why? Because Rajendra Kalekar was a cop of the Mumbai Police Department.

Officials in the western state of Maharashtra ordered the suspension after pictures of constable Rajendra Kalekar rushing to embrace the star as he left the jail were flashed on television screens at the weekend.

Eight other constables face disciplinary action for shaking hands with Dutt, released last Thursday after three weeks in Yerawada jail in Pune.

State officials said the embrace and handshakes violated the police manual as well as civil service rules.

What an irony that the Jaado Ki Jhaapi that Sanjay professed in his film, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.  turned to be a curse for Rajendra Kalekar and eight other police officials.
