Salman Gets Five Year Jail Term

When all of Bollywood was happy for Sanjay’s bail and celebrations were on. A gloomy news has some what dampned the party. The High Court today rejected an appeal by Salman Khan against a five-year prison sentence for a 1998 poaching case on Friday. This means that Salman Khan has no choice but to go to jail and also pay a fine of 25,000 rupees.

Salman Khan was convicted in 2006 for killing protected black buck antelopes in the western desert state of Rajasthan and given a one-year jail sentence. Khan is also facing charges of killing a person sleeping on a pavement in Mumbai while driving drunk in 2002. He has denied being at the wheel.

“Salman’s Khan’s advocate will now have to decide when he surrenders,” said Mahipal Bishnoi, a prosecution lawyer, speaking on a local news channel. “I think he might surrender on Monday.”

“The judgement has been upheld right in his opinion. The 126-page judgement is a well-reasoned one,” said Ashok Kumar Widlife Conservationist.

For the Bishnois campaigning against the actor, the verdict was only too welcome.

“The court has given the right verdict. We thank the witnesses and the legal lobby which has given this judgement,” said Mahipal Bishnoi, Lawyer of the Bishnoi Community.

Salman’s hopes for acquittal have fallen flat with this verdict. While he’s running out of options, legal trouble for him is really increasing.
