Video : Hot Promo Of Urmila In Mehbooba Song From Ram Gopal Verma Ke Aag
The much awaited Mehbooba song from Sholay that was immortalised by Bollywood’s finest dancer ever, Helen, is out agian. But this time it is Urmila Matondkar grooving her body to the Mehbooba E Mehbooba tune in Ram Gopal Verma Ke Aag .
The Mehbooba song in Ram Gopa Verma Ke Aag is not entirely the same as the Sholay version. The beats are similar and even the catchy Mehbooba-E-Mehbooba phrase is retained albeit with a change in lyrics and different tone to the song. Whatever the changes in this new Mehbooba song, I must say R.D. Burman’s song has been totally rapedby this new version.
The video also has Mohan Lal (playing Thakur) mouthing the famous lines from Sholay, “loha garam hai”. Even Amitabh playing the role that Amjad Khan (of Gabbar) had played in Sholay mouths a few line.
Going by the looks of it, Ram Gopal Verma has gone for a quite darker colors, cinematographically for his version of Sholay. Some what similar to Sarkar. Anyways watch the trailer and enjoy.

So check out Bollywood’s most awaited video of the year : Urmila Mataondkar in Mehbooba song

And here is the song from the original Sholay. With Helen gyrating her body to the beats of R.D. Burman’s Mehbooba.

Urmila surely gives a very sensuous performance and moves her body well. Unfortunately the choreography isn’t too impressive. And even otherwise Urmila is no match to the dancing queen Helen.
So which Mehbooba song do you prefer? The original one or the new one from Sholay. Personally, I would go for the old Mehbooba song any day. What about you?

Hi Chinmay Harshe,
Please accept my congratulations for coming up with Avadhoot Gupte’s interview. It’s nice to know about Marathi artists who have created a niche for themselves by virtue of their work and talent.I am an ardent bollywood movie/music fan based in California.I could see a lot of potential in your idea and presentation the way you guided the interview. The things I would have tried giving a finishing to the entire post would have been a camera angle where both of you were comfortably visible, in the sense, that each time you shook legs while asking questions falsely indicated that you are not feeling it comfortable somewhere. The questions were precise and not just run-of-the-mill types but at the same time not bounced over abruptly. You may skip true things about yourself that it is your first ever post etc etc…no need for that.If you know your stuff and if the content speaks for itself, there’s no need to bother yourself how good you were. Please indicate your mail id next time in the finishing line…if ok in next post. Its a good idea to interview young talents than oldies….like you might consider Amar Mohile, Nikhil-Vinay, Swanand Kirkire.Swanand would be the next big thing…since he has developed a style like Gulzar that too hailing from a Marathi background I suppose…!!ALso try reaching Nihira Joshi and the likes…SO that’s it and you have a gala time in your job..!!

I AM SO FED UP WITH PEOPLE COMPARING THE REMAKES WITH THE ORIGINALS!!!!
PLEASE DONT DO THAT!!!
THERS NO NEED AT ALL TO COMPARE A REMAKE WITH THE ORIGINAL. IF U R A FAN OF THE ORIGINAL,GOOD FOR U…NJOY THE ORIGINAL. NO ONE IS INVITING THE ORIGINAL’S FANBASE TO WATCH THE REMAKE.IF IT’S OK WHEN GODFATHER IS REMADE,THEN Y NOT SHOLAY? WE ALL KNOW RGV HAS A GR8 POTENTIAL AND IS ONE OF THE MOST TALENTED DIRECTORS OF BOLLYWOOD.LET HIM BE. FIRST WATCH THE MOVIE AND THEN DECIDE IF IT’S GOOD OR BAD. AND ABOUT URMILLA AND HELEN. Y COMPARE THEM BOTH? WHEN THEY R BOTH FRM SUCH DIFFRNT BACKGROUNDS AND GENERATIONS. IF U THINK HELEN IS THE BEST,AGAIN-GOOD FOR U!! NO ONE’S PUTTING A GUN TO UR HEAD AND MAKING U WATCH THE REMIX VIDEO. SO FOR GOD’S SAKE,PLZ STOP COMPARING. ATLEAST WAIT TILL U HAV SEEN THE MOVIE. THEN COMPARE. A REMAKE IS JUST A TRIBUTE TO THE ORIGINAL,IT NEVER COMPETES WITH THE ORIGINAL. RGV DOESNT WANT TO PROVE HE IS BETTER THAN SIPPY. HE JUST WANTS TO PORTRAY THE OLD MASTERPIECE IN HIS OWN WAY AND IN THE PRESENT TIMES. SO PLZ FOR THE LAST TIME,THERS NO NEED TO ASSAULT THE REMAKES(the same goes for any other remake,by any other director). PLZ DONT WATCH THE MOVIE WITH THIS ATTITUDE,THEN U’LL NEVER LIKE IT IN TH FIRST PLACE. AND IF U R WATCHING TH MOVIE JUST TO COMPARE,THEN I REALLY THINK U R WASTING UR TIME AND MONEY.
P.S.-NO HARD FEELINGS.
a moviebuff.
