Shaad Ali’s third movie Jhoom Barabar Jhoom releases today. This is the second release of Yash Raj Film’s this year. The movie has Abhishek Bachchan, Lara Dutta, Preity Zinta and Bobby Deol in the lead. Shankar Ehsaan Loy have already had the audience jhooming with their superhit soundtrack. So lets see if the movie works out or will it be one of those Yash Raj Films which are so bad but still manage to make moolah at the box office. Let’s see what the critics have to say?

Rajeev Masand : “Jhoom Barabar Jhoom has a superhit soundtrack, it’s sensationally choreographed and has excellent camerawork, but it’s still a film with a plot that just doesn’t work.”

Caught Jhoom Barabar Jhoom first day first show and must say it was a bad experience. But every cloud has a silver lining and the silver lining for Jhoom Barabar Jhoom was the promo of Yash Raj Films next release Chak De India.

Despite Yash Raj Film’s doling out all crap covered with gloss these days, I do have high expectations from Chak De India. That is because it is directed by a fantastic director , Shimit Amin. The one who gave us the classic Ab Tak Chappan.

The trailer has Shah Rukh Khan whose role is inspired by former National Women’s Hockey Coach Mir Ranjan Negi and the eleven girls of the Hockey team whom he is going to coach. Shahrukh Khan introduces each one of the eleven girls in the Chak De India promo and the music of the film by Salim Suleiman is a way above notch. The catch line “Chak De Chak De Ek Hockey … ” will soon become a rage once the promos are out on the music channels.

Bollywood film maker Shekhar Kapur has done the impossible. He has got Tony Blair to act for his film Global Cool, a film related to the hazards of global warming. In addition to appearing alongside Hollywood sirens Sienna Miller (Factory Girl, Layer Cake, Alfie) and Heather Graham (The Guru, Austin Powers), Tony took direction from acclaimed Golden Globe nominee Shekhar Kapur, and saddled up for the making of the spoof movie trailer with the king of Indian Cinema, Mr Amitabh Bachchan.

With a plethora of stars Shekar Kapur looks determined to showcase his films as not one of those boring documentary films. But a film that willl educate people and at the same time be entertaining.

A teaser of Global Cool was premeired at IIFA earlier this month and the movie surely promises to have a take at the problem of global warming in a unique way. I guess there is no need to worry as the reigns of Global Cool are in the hands of the famous Shekar Kapur.

Salman Khan’s delayed and much hyped over Marigold will finally see the light of the day. Marigold is directed by Hollywood director Willard Carroll. From the trailer this film seems quite promising. Hope it does not dissapoint like Gurinder Chadda’s Bride and Prejudice.In Marigold Salman Khan plays a Bollywood choreographer while Ali Carter plays Hollywood actress. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy will be giving music to the film. So this is one film you have to watch out for.

But I wonder whether this movie is Salman’s Hollywood film or Ali Larter’s Bollywood film? Only time will answer that question. Until then catch the exclusive trailer of Marigold.

We had already told you abouty Himesh turning into a cartton for promoting Aap Ka Surror. And the video is out for all our readers to see. Himesh himself is such a cartoon, I really wonder whether an animated Himesh was required . The video has Tera Mera Milna background music to it and is picturised on all cartoon characters. The cartoon Himesh also wears the traditional cap and raises his mike above head level to sing. Watch the video and laugh out!!!

Himesh is leaving no stones unturned for his film Aap ka Surroor. The latest promo of the film has Mallika Sherawat doing a Helen and grooving to the super hit number Mehbooba E Mehbooba from Sholay.

Himesh and Asha Bhosle have recreated the song for Aap Ka Surroor. The recreation by Himesh is actually good and brings back memories from Sholay. Mallika Sherawat looks ultimately sexy as she grooves to Himesh’s music.

I do not know how the movie will fare…. but surely appreciation must be given to Himesh Reshammiya for the way he is promoting the movie. “Chocolate accha ho na ho…par wraper jaroor accha dikh raha hain.”

So get ready to check out the sensuous Mallika Sherawat dance to Mehbooba in Aap Ka Surroor.

If you missed this Sunday’s episode of the Shetty sisters sipping their coffee with Karan, then must say you really missed a lot. The episode was fun and Karan was ever so witty.
