Video : Amitabh As Gabbar In RGV Ke Sholay

Filed under: Bollywood News, Bollywood Videos and Pictures - 28 May 2007

There has been quite a buzz of Ram Gopal Verma’s dream venture, RGV Ke Sholay. And it has been more in news so because none other than Amitabh Bachchan will be playing the role of the dreaded dacoit Gabbar Singh in the movie.

It’s really praise worthy that Big B is getting such meaty roles at such an old age. This year infact he had some good films like Cheeni Kum, Nishabd and Shoot Out At Lokhandwala. But RGV Ke Sholay will undoubtedly be Amitabh’s biggest project this year. So how will Amitabh manage to make a transition from the serious Jai to the notorious Gabbar? That question will be answered when Ram Gopal Verma’s Sholay’s hits the screens.

Till then here’s an exclusive video of RGV Ke Sholay for our readers.

My Best Friends Wedding

Filed under: Bollywood Funnies - 28 May 2007

The Abhishek Aishwarya marriage has been one helluva hyped and over publicised wedding of all times. The news channels, news papers, magazines were covering this event 24/7 and it appeared that no other important stuff was happening in India. Even movietonic covered the wedding extensively. You could check out movietonic’s coverage of the wedding here.

Abhijeet, a friend and a newbie blogger writes a rather comic narration of the Ash - Abhishek wedding drama and adds some Bollywood drama and doses it with a lot of humor, to provide you with a dish that’s yummy. Check out Abhijeet’s fictionalised Bollywood style narration of the Aishwarya Abhishek wedding. Be ready to laugh yourself out !!!!

It seems that the most famous wedding of Tinsel town for the current generation was a total farce. The real Abhi-Aish wedding was a far cry from reality. The glimpses of what one got to see on the television were actually that of a mega block buster being shot in the Bandra-Juhu locality. Inside sources reveal the following storyline……

Ash’s family arranges an Abhishek Bachchan for their glorious girl. The family sings a lot of songs and amidst distribution of Laddoos the couple exchange their rings. As the Bollywood brat (our own Sallu bhai) learns this, he starts towards the place where his one time girl friend is being married against her will. While he is on his way he encounters a certain Vi‘weak’ Abbe-roye who is apparently holding a press conference in the middle of the road. Seeing this Sallu bhai first takes of his shirt and immediately some thirty forty Monas, Tinas, Chamelis sprout from nowhere and a dance sequence begins. All of them mysteriously synchronizing their steps with Sallu. Sallu Bhai does a nice jig which involves a Ring-a Ring-a roses around Vi‘weak’ Bhai.

Towards the end of the songsomeone comes and whispers into Sallu bhai’s ears and reminds him that he is supposed to be on his way to win his beau. Sallu laughs out loudly and says ….”Sallu khush Hua” and takes off his pearl chain and flings it at the messenger. The messenger starts screaming “Maharaj Sallu ki jai.. Maharaj Sallu amar rahe.Maharaj Sallu ki jai”

Filed under: Bollywood Gossip, Bollywood News - 27 May 2007

Priety Zinta’s latest release,Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, is directed by Shaad Ali . Check out Preity’s interview where she spoke about Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and more. Here are some excerpts from the interview -

What do you think about the music of Jhoom Barabar Jhoom?
The music of Jhoom Barabar Jhoom is outstanding. After a long time I have done a film where in every song is my favourite. There isn’t one song that I can’t say is my favourite. Right from the title track to any track all are very well done.

What do you think about Shankar Ehsaan Loy
Shankar Ehsaan Loy are my lucky music directors. They did the music for Dil Chahta hai, KANK, Kal Ho Na Ho. These are all films of mine in which the music has been outstanding and it’s really done well. It’s gone down well with the audiences and I think they have upped their quotient with Jhoom Barabar Jhoom because they are so good in this movie. The variety they have is so outstanding. I think that’s why they are three of them because each one contributes so much to the film and that gives us a whole picture.

Cheeni Kum Movie Review

Cheeni Kum  depicted as a sweet romantic comedy with a little twist is directed by advertising guru R. Balakrishnan. Cheeni Kum is a sugar free romance between a older man and a younger woman. Balakrishnan. so let’s see what response Cheeni Kum gets from some of Bollywood’s finest critics. Will it be a dampner like Nishabd or will it be an entertainer that it promises to be.

Taran Adarsh : “CHEENI KUM is absorbing in parts. A lackluster first half gets a boost with a much energetic second half and that elevates the film to the watchable level.”
Movie Rating : 3/5

N.K Deoshi : ” Director R Balki has got almost everything right in his first feature film.”
Movie Rating : 3/5

Martin D’Souza: “A clean entertainer which can be watched by the entire family”

She still persists with her Saas-Bahu formula and is pretty successful at it.

“If you do not like it , don’t watch it” — that’s what Ekta has to say to her critics. So be prepared to watch a totally uninhibited and uncensored Ekta Kapoor on Sunday, May 27 at 9 pm on Star One and Star World. It will be great fun atleast better than Ekta’s serials atleast :)

So here is a sneak preview of the episodes for our readers. Watch it and enjoy.

Shootout At Lokhandwala Movie Review

Bollywood loves telling tales of gangsters and underworld dons. Controversies Surround Shootout at Lokhandwala
