Amitabh Bachchan made his first public appearance to talk to the media about the wedding of his son, Abhishek and daughter-in -law Aishwarya Rai. Ever since the wedding news spread, the media has created a huge hoopla over it. To ward of unwanted guests and media gate crashers the security of the wedding venues had been increased manifold.

The Bachchan’s Prateeksha loooked nothing short of a manned fortress. On the wedding night three photo-journalists were allegedly attacked by security guards escorting a cavalcade carrying Bachchan’s newly wed son Abhishekh and his wife Aishwarya outside the family bungalow, ‘Prateeksha’.

Amitabh on Sunday said he was “sorry” for the incident and “apologised with folded hands”. Amitabh clarified the guards who were allegedly involved in the incident belonged to Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh, who is guarded by National Security Guard commandos.

“I have come to apologise, as I read that the media is angry and that they had a tiff with security guards,” said Amitabh.

“I am really sorry and I apologise with folded hands if mediapersons faced trouble because of the security. The security guards weren’t for me. They were Amar Singh’s security guards.”

Amitabh said the incident probably occurred because the cavalcade carrying Abhishekh and Aishwarya was in a hurry to enter the bungalow as according to the Hindu traditions Aishwarya was supposed to enter the Bachchan house-hold before sunset.

Nine time national award winning  director Jahnu Barua is all set to direct his first out and out commercial flick Har Pall. Jahnu Barua’s last film Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara was critically acclaimed and turned out to be Anupam Kher’s best performance to date.

Har Pall will see a never seen before fresh combination of Shiny Ahuja and Preity Zinta. The film is being produced by Tito of the famous Tito- Tony pair who produced films like Ram Balram, Do Anjaane and Insaniyat with Amitabh Bachchan.

Speaking about Har Pall, director Jahnu Barua says, Preity Zinta and Shiny Ahuja were my first choice as they fit the bill. I approached both of them and narrated the subject and am happy that they agreed to play the main lead in my film. Shiny is an actor, who can be moulded in any role. Har Pall is a commercial Hindi film which has a strong story.

Adnan Sami’s new album ‘Kisi Din’ was launched at a star studded function in Mumbai . Not just Adnan Sami is making a comeback with his latest album, his new look is a revelation too as he faces the camera after ages.

It is a collection of 11 songs which reflect different moods, an elated Sami said after the launch of the album. Two videos of the album have also been released. Adnan Sami comes with a new look after loosing dozens of kilos as a result of a rigorous regime.

Kisi Din is a beautiful album with emotional songs that are sure to get a tear to your eyes. The songs of Kisi Din which are undoubtedly very emotional seem to be inspired by Adnan’s own love life. “In this album, you will get to hear about my real life. It’s about love, misery, sadness and even happiness. I like to expose my life through my songs and you can get a glimpse of it in this album,” Adnan Sami told IANS in an interview.

The first video song “Teri Yaad” from the album had model Avanne romancing with Adnan . And the second video from the album is the title track of the album “Kisi Din” and has Yana Gupta play the female lead. Must say the Bollywood item girl Yana Gupta, is given a very fresh look in Kisi Din and she looks angelic.The video of the song like all Adnan Sami videos is exquisitely shot and melts your heart. The lyrics too are wonderful and add to the musical strength of Kisi Din.

Tusshar Kapoor desperately needs a solo -hit to prove his worth. Ayesha Takia is high on confidence after her award winning performance in Dor. Director Lovely Singh has to prove his worth with his debut film. All these stars will surely be praying that Kya Love Story Hai becomes a huge hit. So let’s see whether the critics feel that the movie is set to become a hit…

Here’s an excerpt from this week’s Koffee With Karan :

Karan : There has been one kind of a remark made by the film fraternity and people from the media that Hrithik Roshan works only with his father Rakesh Roshan… it’s only his father that gets the best out of him till Dhoom happened… did you feel an internal divide at home?

Rakesh Roshan : No, not at all. On the contrary I was very happy because the film belonged to my son.

Karan : What I find amazing is that most of us our younger film makers today … and you have been around as a film maker for over 20 years… and have been in the industry for over 37 years now… today you are in the panel of film makers who has made some of the youngest films in that respect… with all the visual effects it is one of India’s first super hero films… you have done this at this age? Do you ever realize this?

Rakesh Roshan : I know… it was a difficult task… if you see in the Roshan family we have a producer - director… we have an actor … we have a music director in the family.. so we are four pillars of a film… so I thought if I don’t take this step, who will… it’s not a normal step… it was a leap… we could have fallen badly… and if I am making such a film… I must have the best technicians with me… so I went ahead and hired Tony Cheng from China… I got special effects people from Los Angeles… we spent a lot and worked on the minutest of details… I couldn’t afford to lose any money… waste any money

Karan : What is your take Sir … you have been in this industry from more than two decades… and have given one of the biggest blockbusters?

Rakesh Roshan : I feel that the biggest critics are the audience… you should take them seriously and not the critics… they don’t know anything about film making … I don’t give them importance at all… I don’t even read the reviews?

Karan : You don’t.

The Great Indian Wedding is finally over. After all the dhoom-dhadaka Bollywood’s beauty girl, Aishwarya Rai has finally tied the nuptial knot with Bollywood’s rockstar, Abhishek Bachchan. Although the media was kept out of Prateeksha and the entire marriage, that didn’t bother them to stop flocking outside Prateeksha so that they could catch a glimpse of the starlet couple through their lenses. Model turned actress, Jhanvi Kapoor cut her wrist outside Prateeksha, the Bachchans’ bungalow in Juhu, claiming she was unable to bear Abhishek Bachchan’s marriage to Aishwarya Rai later in the day. Jhanvi Kapoor was one of the 10 dancers in a promotional music video for a movie “Dus”  that Bachchan starred in two years ago.

Jhanvi Kapoor created quite a stir when she landed at the Bachchan’s house early Friday and slashed her wrist. She was given first-aid treatment at a nearby hospital. Police recorded her statement, but said she appeared to have been taking drugs. “She showed us no proof and her speech was slurred,” Mohite said. “She seemed to have done this purely to catch the attention of the media.” Mohite also said Kapoor didn’t give her real name and police have information that she was already married. She had slit her wrist in the past also, he added.

Sporting a bandaged arm, she told reporters she loved Bachchan, who had promised to marry her and to announce about their relationship at the Film Fare Awards Night. To a question whether the Bollywood star reciprocated her love, she said: “He is not talking to me. I want to know why he doesn’t talk to me.” Jhanvi has also accused Amar Singh of threatening her life.
