Sajid Khan the brother of reputed choreographer and director , Farah Khan is all set to begin direction of his first film Hey Baby . Earlier Sajid Khan has been seen doing small roles in films and comedy acts . He is remembered for his show Ikke pe Ikka , which for years has been the top Bollywood songs countdown show .

Hey Baby is written and directed by Sajid Khan and will be produced by Sajid Naidadwala whose latest film Jaan-E-Maan (directed by Shirish Kunder) bombed at thje box office .The film stars Akshay Kumar , Fardeen Khan , Ritesh Deshmukh , Vidhya Balan and Boman Irani in the lead roles . The music of the film will be given by Bollywood’s famous music trio—Shankar Ehsaan and Loy .

Synopsis of Hey Baby

The movie deals with the life of three casonovas( Akshay,Ritesh and Fardeen) whose merriful life comes to a stand-still when a baby arrives at their door step and one of them is it’s father .The three guys have to now search from among the various girls with whom they have slept to discover who it’s mother would be .

Sajid is really going big for his debut film .Sajid Khan recently shot a song for his film Hey Baby with 21 leading ladies, choreographed by his sister Farah Khan. The leading ladies who gladly participated in the marathon song included Ameesha Patel, Diya Mirza, Koena Mitra, Shamita Shetty, Neha Dhupia, Malaika Arora, Amrita Arora, Amrita Rao, Tara Sharma, Minissha Lamba, Celina Jaitley, Riya Sen, Sophie, Masumi, Aarti Chabria and Hrishita Bhatt . And if rumors are to believed Preity Zinta, Bipasha Basu & Sushma Reddy will also be in the song .

In an exclusive interview with Subhash Jha , Madhur Bhandarkar speaks about his latest release Traffic signal .

Apparently Traffic Signal (TS) has opened poorly overseas.
Yes, it’s a little weak. But TS isn’t targeted at the overseas market. There’re no stars in the film. Rest everywhere it’s doing very well.

It takes audacity to make a de-glam product in this day and age.
Yes and I shot in real sunlight. Bahut himmat ki zaroorat hai. TS came in face of films with a heavy gloss. I’m proud to do a slice-of-life work. But if you see my career from Chandni Bar to TS, I’ve always explored various less glamorous aspects of life. I’m not a commercial filmmaker at all. My films don’t make 100 crores at the box office. I keep experimenting with various aspects of life. And I deserve credit at least for moving away from the clichés of our cinema.

Your films also require financial audacity.
I never had a problem getting producers once Chandni Bar was released. Whether it’s Satta or Corporate, I never had to struggle for a producer. None of my films ever lost money. Everyone earns money.

Mira Nair the renowned director Nair, who has films such as “Vanity Fair,” “Monsoon Wedding,” “Mississippi Masala” and “Salaam Bombay!” under her belt, is all set to create history . She has supposedly roped in the Big B and Johnny Depp(Pirates of Caribbean fame) to star in Shantaram a movie based on Gregory David Roberts book by the same name . Mira was very proud after being given the opportunity by Warner Brothers to direct Shantaram . The movie is slated to release in 2008 and is supposed to be Mira’s best work till date .Shantaram will be shot extensively, in Mumbai and also in Australia and North America. Eric Roth is writing the script of the film.Speculation is that now she will have her hands full with Shantaram, she will no longer be directing Gangsta M.D., the Hollywood version of the Bollywood hit, Munna Bhai MBBS.

Faced with a choice of either Russell Crowe or Johnny Depp in the lead, Roberts opted for the latter.

“I had this connection with Johnny Depp long before the auctions for the distribution. He has a lot of Indian friends. The way he spoke about them has made me realise that he was the best actor who could bring that love to the film,” Roberts said.

Synopsis of the movie —Based on the life story of author Gregory David Roberts, a heroin addict incarcerated for a robbery ,escapes prison and reinvents himself as a doctor in the slums of Bombay. His ties to the crime underworld there lead him to Afghanistan, where he partners with a mob boss locked in a battle with Russian criminals . Shantaram is one journey that you would not want to miss .

Bollywood’s sexiest hunk is not with his lady love on Valentine’s Day.Not that there is any friction between John Abraham and Bipasha Basu . It is just that Bipasha is not in town.

John himself would not have been in Mumbai on V-Day. He was slated to go to London to shoot for Vivek Agnihotri’s film Goal in which he plays a footballer. But some unexpected problem with visa or passport kept him back in Mumbai.

However, on the day when the lovers are painting the town red, John is on his own. He earlier said that he plans to spend good part of the day with his mom, who has not been keeping well lately.

Character Sketch

Couple 1: Oscar Fernandez (Boman Irani) and Nahid (Shabana Azmi)  .They are an elderly couple; a bit out of place in this group of young honeymooners. The carefree twosome doesn’t care about people poking fun at them. They are on honeymoon to keep their difficult past behind and search for a new future with each other.

Couple 2: Partho Sen (Kay Kay Menon) and Milly Sen (Raima Sen) . This couple from suburban Kolkata is engaged in an eternal war of the sexes. A dominating Partho tries curbing his wife’s fun-loving instincts till things get shockingly out of control in Goa!

Couple 3: Pinky (Amisha Patel) and Vicky (Karan Khanna)  . Pinky and Vicky, from Delhi, are poles apart. While Pinky is talkative to the hilt, Vicky is the quiet sort. The reason for his aloofness is manifest at the end.
