Jodha Akbar = Aishwarya + Hrithik

Filed under: Bollywood Latest Releases, Bollywood News - 23 Feb 2007

Ashustosh Gowariker on his Jodha –Akbar Pair
There’s a certain royal quality to Hrithik’s face and body language. As for Aishwarya, to me she’s the quintessential princess…straight out of Amar Chitra Katha….the distressed princess waiting in her chamber to be rescued. Aishwarya has the elegance and of course the beauty. Calling her beautiful is an understatement. Though we’ve seen her in so many avatars as Jodha she’s something else. Hrithik and Ash are amazing together.

Best Songs Sung By Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan may be the finest actors of Bollywood and the “Angry Man” of tinsel town. His resounding voice has villians shiver. But apart from that he is a damn good singer too. His recent track “Rozana” from Nishabd is a killer. The way he sings and expresses himself is applause-worthy. You really feel the emotional pangs he is going through. So “Rozana” from Nishabd is undoubtedly his best track.

 The Story

Jodha Akbar is a sixteenth century love story about a marriage of alliance that gave birth to true love between a great Mughal emperor, Akbar, and a Rajput princess, Jodhaa.

Jodha Akbar

Politically, success knew no bounds for Emperor Akbar. After having secured the Hindu Kush, he furthered his realm by conquest until his empire extended from Afghanistan to the Bay of Bengal, and from the Himalayas to the Godavari River.

Through a shrewd blend of tolerance, generosity, and force, Akbar won the allegiance of the Rajputs, the most belligerent Hindus. But little did Akbar know that when he married Jodhaa, a fiery Rajput princess, in order to further strengthen his relations with the Rajputs, he would in turn be embarking upon a new journey - the journey of true love.

“Saif is absolutely fine”—–Sharmila Tagore

Filed under: Bollywood News - 22 Feb 2007

Recently Bollwood actor Saif Ali Khan suffered from  a chest pain and was admitted to the ICU. But now he is recovering and his family and well wishers are a happy lot.

Sharmila Tagore is the most relieved mother in the world right now. “He’s absolutely fine. He had a chest pain. They took him to the hospital and did a series of tests. It turned out to be exhaustion. To be on the safer side he has been administered medicine. He’ll be kept under medical care for a couple of days, one more day in the ICU unit. Yes, I’ll be here in Mumbai for a while. In any case, I was planning to come to Mumbai to re-decorate Soha’s place. So, I just had to come a few days earlier. Sunday night was very tense for us. We heard all kinds of rumours about Saif that he had a massive heart attack. But I didn’t buy that initially. I was in touch with the doctors.”

“Will I ask him to slow down? I don’t think what happened to him had to do with over-work. For a man, it’s very important to keep working. I’ve seen many people at my age languishing away for the lack of work. I don’t want that to ever happen to him. Saif needs to work to his optimum.

Jiah Khan rude or confident ?

Filed under: Bollywood Gossip, Bollywood News - 22 Feb 2007

Her debut movie ‘Nishabd’ has yet to be released but, Jiah has no qualms with throwing attitude. The actress has refused blockbuster filmmaker Sanjay Gadhvi of ‘Dhoom’ fame for his next. Jiah was called to Gadhvi’s office and was offered a role in his forthcoming movie, which Sanjay is directing for Asthvinayak Banner.

When the new comer asked more about the role, Gadhvi got offended and responded, “Don’t you know I created Dhoom?” The reply was however, not sufficient for Jiah, who walked out on Gadhvi clearly indicating that she was not interested in doing the movie.
